When Holistic Project Delivery isn’t employed, the results can be stark. For instance, a review of a non-holistic project revealed accessible parking stalls placed in the middle of a parking lot, disconnected from the community. This lack of empathy meant users couldn’t easily access the ramps and move easily through the parking lot. The project served the code but failed to serve the people.
In contrast, HPD would consider how users experience the design, ensuring that elements like accessible parking are thoughtfully integrated with public transport and community access on the public path of travel, demonstrating our commitment to serving the people and not just meeting code requirements for code’s sake.
